In the match of the 34th round of the French championship Lyon will play at home with Angers. The hosts are clinging to the last chance to get into a more decent European Cup than the Conference League. But to do that, they not only need to beat Angers, but also hope for a misfire from their rivals, who go higher: Strasbourg, Lille and Nice are three points above Lyon. Lyon have made it difficult for themselves because they have failed in their last few games after crashing out of the Europa League at the hands of Manchester United. He then lost in the championship to outsider St Etienne (1:2), coped with Rennes (4:1), but in the last rounds lost to Lance (1:2) and Monaco (0:2). And the chances of a place in the Champions League quickly faded away. Although the potential of Paulo Fonseca's team is very big.

But Angers have long dwelt in the mid-table zone, slightly dropping to those who are struggling for survival. Although this season they did not seriously fear for their fate - a very good lead was created at the very beginning. And now Angers are looking decent, when the result does not pressurise the team in any way. He is in 13th place three points behind Toulouse and ahead of Reims and Nantes. Last round Angers spoilt the Champions League contenders Strasbourg, defeating them (2:1), before that complicated the fight for survival Nantes (1:0), and earlier lost to Lille (0:2) and Nice (1:2). So even unmotivated Angers can spoil the blood of any opponent. Although Lyon in the first round he lost to Lyon with the score 0:3.
