Forecast
Scotland could have the highest scoring match of the day
On Wednesday, 12 February, Celtic will play Bayern at home. This is a qualifying match for the right to qualify for the Champions League 1/8 finals.
Brendan Rodgers' team is having a dominant season in Scotland. Celtic was able to win 21 matches out of 25 in their championship, the team almost secured the title. The successes don't end there: "Celtic" have already won the League Cup (it was back in December), reached the quarter-finals in the Scottish Cup and continue to claim the domestic treble.
In the Champions League, the Scots were very lucky with the draw: the opponents were hopeless Slovan and Young Boys, also played with Zagreb and Brugge. In other words, the chances for the playoffs were initially good. We didn't do well against top clubs: we didn't lose to Atalanta, but we conceded a combined eleven goals to Aston Villa and Dortmund. This is scary in the context of the upcoming match against Bayern.
Munich seem to have mundanely secured the Bundesliga title. The team has increased the margin from Bayer to nine points. The match in Leverkusen will be played on 15 February. An away win virtually guarantees the title, although even now there is little doubt. Bayern are steadily going the distance in the championship - only four misfires in 21 rounds.
Bayern's attacking group looks very powerful right now. Musiala, Kane, and Oliseh have found an understanding. The top scorer traditionally goes to personal victories - Harry has already scored 21 goals and made seven assists.
Bayern have scored 17 goals in the last five games - the average performance is more than three goals per game. The 100-goal mark for the season may well be reached.
The absence of injuries has a positive impact on the club. Only Alphonso Davies is missing from the key players. The Canadian has already said goodbye in advance - the player is expected in Real Madrid in the summer, so they were prepared for such a loss.
In the Champions League, Bayern were certainly expected to be in the top eight, but the club suffered three defeats relatively unexpectedly. First, they lost to Aston Villa for no reason, then fell under the wrath of Barcelona and again failed to realise their chances against Feyenoord. With Celtic, such an outcome is unlikely.
The Scots play well and bravely in attack. We can assume that they can score one goal at home. Still, the mood will be special, the stands will help at some point. Bayern are unlikely to aim for a rout - they need to save their strength for the trip to Leverkusen. The total of 3.5 goals in the bookmakers' line still looks fair - a big success for the favourite is possible if the chances are well taken. There is logic in expecting two goals in each of the halves.
