Before the fifth round of the Champions League group stage, the situation in Group G is extremely simple. Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund will decide between them the winner of first place. Sevilla and Copenhagen will decide which of them will head to the Europa League play-offs from third place in the quartet. The Spanish club are five points behind the German club and could, in theory, overtake them. However, in order to do so, Borussia must not pick up more than a single point, while Sevilla are obliged to win both matches. Manchester City come to Dortmund as favourites to win the match, Group G and the whole tournament. Bookmakers are currently betting on a Mancunians victory in the Champions League with odds of 2.80.

Borussia Dortmund picked up two wins last week with a combined score of 7-0. The Dortmund side defeated Hannover in the German Cup (2-0) and Stuttgart in the Bundesliga (5-0). Nevertheless, it is safe to say that the BVB problems are still there, and their success is directly related to the opponents' level. Prior to the above-mentioned games, Borussia managed to win only one meeting out of five in October. Before the game with Manchester City, the Bumblebees have seven players in the sack, with Meunier and Ozdjan being the most prominent.

Manchester City were also productive last weekend. Not only did the team beat Brighton with "minimal effort", but also with this victory they reduced to two points the gap from Arsenal in the title race. A little over a week ago, Pep Guardiola's side lost their first game of the season with a poor trip to Anfield. Prior to that, the team suffered their first Champions League misfire when Manchester City failed to win in Copenhagen. Given the Mancunian club's busy schedule, closing out all questions regarding first place in the group in Dortmund is an important and high priority for them. There are no new injured players in Manchester City's squad.

Borussia came close to scoring in the first game, but Stones and Halland scored against Meyer in the dying stages of regulation time to make it 2-1. The level of players and coaches of the away team is higher than that of the home side and therefore it is advisable to bet in favour of the English club.
