Liam Rosenior was fired from his position as Chelsea's head coach in the middle of the week. After a change of ownership at the club, the 41-year-old Englishman became the fifth head coach to take charge of the London club. As a result, even in the most optimistic minds of Blues fans there are doubts about the competence of the club's new top management. For reference, Roman Abramovich, under whom Chelsea enjoyed the best stretch in their history, was forced to sell the club due to political pressure, and the proceeds have been blocked in the United Kingdom to date. Calum MacFarlane has been appointed as the Blues' interim coach, who will lead the team until the end of the season. Essentially, the 40-year-old Englishman is taking little risk. The only competition Chelsea can still win is the FA Cup, where the Blues will face Leeds in the semifinal. The visitors are in somewhat different position. On one hand, Daniel Farke's team sits only fifteenth in the Premier League table. On the other hand, this season the Whites are newcomers to the top flight of English football. And they do not lack the problems with the players' work rate and discipline on the opponent's side either. If Chelsea has stars but lacks a cohesive squad, Leeds has a football squad built without standout players. Chelsea's win over Port Vale in the previous round of the FA Cup was the team's only unbeaten match in the last eight. Moreover, the Blues during this period have been shut out six times. Not results, but a total disaster. In the Premier League the team has practically lost its chances of a top five finish and has been eliminated from the Champions League. Leeds, by contrast, have the opposite results. In the last seven official matches, the Peacocks have not lost once. Overall, over the last four to five months Leeds have lost only one game by more than one goal in about twenty matches. This happened in the match against Arsenal before the run of form crisis in the Gunners' camp. After Rosenior's dismissal, Chelsea will surely rebound. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the home side will keep a clean sheet.
