The national team of Iceland has experienced a rather unexpected fall in the results and level in recent years. This was especially reflected in the performance of the team in last year's League of Nations, as well as the disastrous departure in the final of the playoffs for the right to play at the European Football Championship. If we take the qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup, the Icelanders no longer have a real chance to compete for the first position. At the same time, they approach the match in Germany in a fairly nice mood. Three days ago, the Icelandic players showed character and managed to save the match, losing it by the 78th minute with a score of 0:2 in the home game with Northern Macedonia. Germany is confidently leading in Group J, even despite the sensational home defeat in March. The Germans should play in the same status of favourites on Wednesday. The hosts definitely have nothing to lose, the likely defeat should not bother them at all, and therefore we should expect bold actions and at least one goal scored.
