At the start of January, Miguel Ángel Ramírez was appointed to this demanding post, who in his relatively short career has coached on nearly every continent, but it seems he never finished what he started and did not stay anywhere for long. After an unprecedented nightmare for the club in the form of a fourth consecutive defeat, Malmö parted ways with Ramírez and has not yet appointed his successor. The apex of the team's on-field misery was the home defeat to Västerås, who had only just returned to Allsvenskan at the start of the season. Halmstads BK parted ways with their coach even earlier than the upcoming opponent.
