Since the beginning of the pandemic, Schalke changed dramatically; even own fans can't recognize the beloved club. Schalke failed to live up with all expectations and now is in the deepest crisis. Nobody expected that the disastrous second half of the previous campaign would continue this season. In 2020, the club managed to survive in the league, due to the points reserve, but this year it will tough to do it, bookmakers and experts do not believe in the team's ability to save place in Bundesliga and accept bets that club will relegate to the second tier. The club from Gelsenkirchen takes the last place in the standings, gaining only 8 points in 19 rounds. The club's board is trying to improve the situation and actively carried out winter transfer window, brought to the team Mustafi and former Schalke star Huntelaar from Ajax. The team's next opponent- Leipzig is showing stability and maintaining its usual high level, competing for places in Champions League. Currently, Red Bull is ranked second in the league and keeps the title hopes alive. In 2020, the teams played each other twice, and both meetings ended in defeating Leipzig's opponent with a score of 5:0 and 4:0. No matter how Schalke strengthened the defence, they definitely will not have time to establish game ties with Mustafi in a couple of days. As in previous matches between rivals, we should expect goals in the first half of the meeting on Saturday.
